Flooded Street/Our Driveway
Overall, we got off a lot easier than many in the Chicago area. I just wanted to share a few pics from the front of our house.
The first is about 2PM Sunday. The second shows who actually enjoyed the flood (look for the ducks). The third is about 5PM as water receded. We are lucky. Many in the area are still severely flooded. We also avoided any flooding inside the house. Many roads are still closed and traffic is snarled beyond belief. Boy did I pick a good week to be at home on vacation (with not much of anywhere to go).
"Duck" WeatherGetting Back Toward Normal

I'm glad the ducks at least enjoyed it.
I cannot get over the flooding there. Who would have thought?
Wow. That's some serious water. Did you go swimming in the street? I would have, but then again, I'm nuts. :)
Glad that things are getting back to normal there.
We got off really lucky. We had some clogged drains that only half-filled the streets. No flooding, just lots of rain. Our next door neighbors happened to have their car parked in a flooded area, though, and got $4000 of water damaged to the engine. They were not happy...
Glad you didn't get hit too badly.
PJ: The ducks just kind of "tell" the story.
Carrie: Left the swimming to the ducks -- the water wasn't that deep -- probably 3 feet at deepest point.
Tabitha: Glad you made out OK too. Sorry for your neighbor, though (and all the others who had major, major losses.
Thanks everyone for stopping by.
