Yesterday was apparently rejection Monday for a fair number of Illinois writers who submitted to the same editor following a conference last fall. The question had been made on our listserv "Has anyone heard back yet?" Well the answer came to at least seven of us in yesterday's snail mail.
General consensus: It was actually a "good" way to receive the rejections -- we shared them.
Three cheers for the support virtually all children's writers share!!!

I remember getting a rejection on the same day as another conference attendee. Both rejection notes had the same hand-written "I am sorry" on them.

No PJ....haven't reached 100 yet.
I'm kind of a light weight on submissions because most of my writing is on MG novels.
I do remember my first rejection: It was probably about 10 years ago and discouraged further submissions for a long time.
Believe it or not, I had a request for submission guideline rejected.
I have a much clearer understanding of the industry at this point.
The rejected piece was actually a PB and it will be back out within a week or so.
